Vocational Training

MGR is committed to bridging the digital divide in marginalized and disadvantaged sectors of society worldwide by providing training in vital job skills to reduce poverty, enhance employability, empower youth/orphans to become productive citizens, enable entrepreneurship, stimulate broad-based economic development, and accelerate social transformation so that they are ready to compete in the global economy.

The Vocational Training Centre operated by MGR in Balakot allows for women and girls (including widows, divorcees and orphans to name a few) to gain training in embroidery, sewing, material selection, ladies fashion design and entrepreneurship.

Regular donations are of enormous value to us as a charity. They are the most cost effective way to fund our work.

Standing Order Form

The Centre is run by a qualified teacher who will pass onto the women and girls the essential skills and confidence needed in order for them to produce good quality clothes for the people of their community as well as themselves. MGRs intention is to encourage in them a passion to be self reliant and become entrepreneurs with the range of skills and education given to them, enabling them to support themselves and their families.

On a regular basis material is provided to the women and girls in order for them to complete their training over a 6 month period, following which they are ready to start sewing for customers at market rates.

This cycle is repeated every 6 months with women and girls who qualify under MGRs guidelines to undertake this training.
