Estimates suggest that the floods have affected more than 21 million people, including 3 million children, making this one of the most serious disasters in a generation.
While the number of deaths is relatively small compared to large disasters like the Haiti earthquake and the Tsunami, in terms of the numbers of people affected and the ongoing impact, the scale of these floods is unprecedented, and there are larger challenges are ahead as well.
MGR is looking to fund a whole village reconstruction in NWFP of Pakistan.
The project aims to reconstruct one village in Noshera District to a standard of that in par with a major city in Pakistan. The project will be based in Khurdabad which is a poor community in District Noshera.
Community involvement and awareness about the importance of Education and health is central for proper growth of children, and for children to have all possible choices for their future. The provision of good quality homes, Education and health care will enable the community of Khurdabad to thrive and prosper once more.
MGR will ensure appropriate standards of the country are used for all building work as outlined by the Reconstruction Authority of Pakistan.
